Taylor Takes Plea Deal
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - A Paducah woman has plead to reduced charges for her alleged role in a 2010 kidnapping and murder.

According to the McCracken County Circuit Court Clerk, 25-year-old Jasmine Taylor entered an Alford plea to a first-degree manslaughter charge on Monday. She originally faced kidnapping and murder charges for her role in the death of 21-year-old Cosondra Evrard.

An Alford plea means that the defendant does not admit guilt, but recognizes there is enough evidence for a conviction.

Taylor, one of several defendants in the Evrard murder case, will be sentenced March 7, the same day her mother will face sentencing.

She faces a prison term of 18 years.
