Choate, Graves Win Boys Regional Golf Titles

MAYFIELD, KY - Trigg County’s Nick Choate won the Boys First Region Golf Tournament Tuesday at Mayfield-Graves Country Club in Mayfield. Choate, who shot 68 on Tuesday, beat Cullan Brown of Lyon County by three shots.

Graves County won the regional team title with a total of 296. McCracken County finished second at 300. Both teams qualified for the upcoming state tournament in Bowling Green.

Choate and Brown will compete at state as individuals. Murray’s Preston English (73) beat St. Mary's Wes Averill (73) and Caldwell County's Daniel Taylor (73) in a playoff and also qualified for state as an individual.
